Our Roper Boot No.10 is handmade in Texas by Rios Of Mercedes. They are one of only a few boot makers that still produces boots using "Channelled Insole Goodyear Welt Construction", an artisanal construction process that extends the longevity, improves comfort and allows you to recraft the boot for generations.

The Final Horween® Bison Roper
This version is made from an American Bison in a "shrunken grain" tannage from Horween® in Chicago. A tough, rugged and natural pebbled surface trimmed with a smooth-grain 5oz. Horween® "Montblanc"steerhide upper shaft. Horween® Leather is not offering the Shrunken American Bison leather in 2026. This is likely the FINAL BUILD in this boot we will make.

The Roper No.10 is an exclusive design built on the classic “Roper” boot, a crossover between a “Western” and a “Dress" boot. Made with a shorter shaft, a cleaner silhouette and a lower heel, the Roper offers supreme comfort and classic styling. The shorter 10" shaft and traditional last, creates a fit that is looser through the heel to allow for comfort and flexibility. The upper shaft, counter, and pull tabs are made from premium US tanned Horween® Horsehide while the vamp is the Horween® Shrunken Bison in black. Each boot is hand-lasted and reinforced with a steel shank and that is secured with wooden pegs. The fully stacked leather heels (1' tall) are finished with a rubber heel tap for longevity. They are leather lined, built without any insole fillers and finished with a premium Vibram® brand sole.

The Roper No.10 Fit
This is a traditional fitting boot in a D width without an insert. If you are used to a snug fitting cowboy boot, order at your boot size. In most cases we recommend ordering at your typical boot size.
EE-Wide AVAILABLE
We will offer the "EE" (Wide) in the Roper Boot No.10.

By placing your order we will reserve this handmade boot for you. THIS IS A FINAL SALE product, we cannot accept any REFUNDS. We will accept a size exchange within 14-days of receipt and if the product is in original condition with the tags, box and all packaging.

Custom width B & EE boots are non-returnable.

This is a Limited Edition boot for 2026 and the FINAL BUILD in this Horween® Bison leather. Horween® is not currently offering American Bison leathers.

Handmade in Texas in small batch quantities, you will not find this style and leather combination anywhere else. There is no guarantee we will offer this version again, as our concept is to offer unique leathers and combinations that will change seasonally.

All of our boots are handmade in Mercedes, Texas by the Rios Of Mercedes boot company using our US tanned leathers.

With more than 160 years of bootmaking experience, Rios are building some of the finest American Western booths in the world today. We have proudly partnered with as the exclusive manufacturer for our NEW and upcoming boots in the 2024/25 seasons.

Rios is one of the last American boot makes that still employs traditional Channeled Insole Goodyear Welt Construction. An intense, highly skilled and truly handcrafted process that extends the longevity, improves comfort and allows you to recraft the boot for generations.

Each boot is hand-lasted and reinforced with steel that is secured with wooden pegs. A fully stacked leather heels are finished with a rubber heel tap for longevity.

This is a Limited Edition "Shrunken" American Bison tanned in Chicago at the Horween® Leather. The hides are chrome and vegetable re-tanned from bison hides that originated in North America. The leather goes through a complex tanning process that shrinks the hide to enhance the already bold natural grain of bison. The pebbled grain is not compromised and is 100% natural. The black bison is more of a "matte" black and is tough with an extremely durable finish that is near waterproof.

The upper shaft is made from premium Horween® Montblanc steerhide in a smooth black (5oz.) A full-grain aniline steerhide with a smooth, natural grain.

We love building products a lot more than repairing them! That’s why we design and build them to last. We want the product to give you a lifetime of use, but if they fail due to a manufacturing defect, we will repair the product or replace it at little or no charge for the life of the item.
