The No.69 Union Jacket is a new design introduced in the fall of 2025. The exclusive design is inspired from vintage leather jackets in the 1940's-60's. With subtle and unique design features like the front snap-flap closure, floating snap cuff straps, suede lined hand-pockets, Japanese made shirting fabric liningh and Japanese crafted "Old American"® brand zippers that are designed from 1940's-60's military wear.
The No.69 cut is a exceptional fit, that follows our standard US sizing scale with a slightly more tapered body. The entire jacket is hand-cut in our San Diego factory, one jacket at a time. The front is a single panel cut with double-welted suede-lined hand pockets. The back is a cut from just two pieces and a deep yoke design. The sleeves taper with an adjustable snap strap that sits just above the wrist. We lined the collar with a 3oz. suede to make it softer and more flexible. The inside will include a vertical cell phone pocket and a zipper pocket.
Yoshiwa Dobby Stripe Selvedge | 4.5oz. Indigo Dyed | NEW Spring 2026 Version
Each season we will source a new Japanese liner for the the the Stone-Washed No.69 jacket.
In Spring 2026 we are using a 4.5oz. 100% cotton Japanese selvedge from Yoshiwa Mills. The fabric is yarn-dyed indigo on shuttle looms for superior quality fabric, better texture and durability over time. A rich indigo blue with white stripes that was inspired by the 1960s vintage Dobby stripe shirts. Unlike a standard flat pinstripe fabrics, Dobby stripes are woven in a way that is slightly raised and with a pattern of small dots and stripes. The indigo dyed fabric is a bright, rich blue that will fade and age like the leather over time. This is a premium shirting fabric from Japan not commonly used as a liner due to the cost.
HORWEEN® DHF Natural Horsehide | Tanned In Chicago, IL
This jacket is made from Horween® DHF (Double Horse Front) Veg Horsehide. It is a premium leather, unique and quite exclusive. Tanned and only available in smaller batches from the famous Horween® tannery in Chicago, the hides are 100% vegetable tanned from a lightweight but firm 3-3.5oz. double horse front. They are tanned in a true natural color. The golden hue is accomplished in the tanning with heat, oil waxes and vegetable extracts, no aniline dyes are used. Expect the color range to darken over time with use and exposure to the sun.
They are then finished with a "hot-plating" to give them a smoother surface, a rich luster and a light sheen. Because this is a horsehide leather, expect the same durability and "temper" associated with a premium horsehide.
This is a Stone-Washed product, so the "break-in period" is accelerated a bit, so expect the leather to be darker on the edges, softer overall and more "Matte" than shiny on the surface.
STONE-WASHED In Los Angeles, California
After years of testing and experimenting, we are finally offering our first Stone-Washed jacket. After the final construction, we take them to a Los Angeles wash house to have them stone-washed in the same way American denim jeans are done. Because the horsehide is a vegetable tannage, it takes the water and washing well. The stone-washing breaks in the leather, darkens the edges and overall softens the jacket just enough. Expect the jacket to have less "shine", more rolled and darkened edges and some "worn" sections.
The process is done entirely by hand in California, where each jacket is individually hand oiled and waxed over several days. All to create a unique and truly one of a kind leather jacket that you will own for a lifetime.
